Chennai to receive Rs 376 crore from World Bank

Under the Chennai City Partnership Programme, the World Bank has agreed to give a loan of Rs 376 crore for the expansion of drinking water infrastructure.

The operation would be carried out jointly by Chennai Corporation, Metro Water, WRD, and the Transport Department, according to a senior official from the Water Resources Department (WRD). The company is the scheme’s nodal agency.
