Telangana has received Rs 1,200 crore in funding for an ethanol plant and biogas generating units.
Bhuvi Biochemicals has pledged to invest Rs 1,040 crore towards the establishment of an ethanol plant. Approximately 2,000 people will be employed by the plant.
Industry and Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao said on Twitter that another business, Dhatri Biosilicates, will spend Rs 160 crore in a silica and biogas factory, which will employ roughly 250 people.
The exact location of these units has yet to be revealed.
Telangana has been assigned a target of 43 crore litres of ethanol to contribute to the Ethanol Blending Program, which aims to achieve 20% blending by 2025.
