The railway officials have devised a plan to upgrade the Thrissur railway station to world standards, with an estimated investment of Rs 100 crore. Railway Divisional Manager R Mukund said this in a meeting called by Thrissur MP T N Prathapan.
Mukund stated that once begun, the suggested development projects should be finished in three years. According to him, a nodal officer has been chosen to oversee the projects’ implementation, and initial data collecting has already begun.
All train services that were interrupted because to the Covid-19 outbreak will be resumed in three to four weeks, according to railway officials. They further stated that passenger train stops at ‘halt stations’ will be resumed soon.
