India Glycol’s Bio-ethanol Plants to be operational in 2023

India Glycols Limited reports that grain-based bio-ethanol facilities in Gorakhpur and Kashipur would be operating in Q2 FY23.

Rupark Sarswat, CEO, India Glycols Limited informs, “The company has increased capital expenditure for grain-based bio ethanol plants in Gorakhpur and Kashipur, and both units are nearing completion and would be commissioned in Q2 FY23. One is the 110 KLPD in Gorakhpur, and the other is the 180 KLPD in Kashipur, both of which will be commissioned in the coming months”.

Sarswat adds, “The grain based and biofuel ethanol projects are in progress, which we expect going forward will help us improve the competitiveness of our specialties and pharma chemicals. We have worked with a new product development and innovation group working very closely for the last eight to nine months to look at new value added chemicals that we will be working on. So we’ve already identified phase one, and capital expenditure for that has already been approved. Significant part of what was our research and development setup actually went to the joint venture. So we have then taken on ourselves to set up another research and development centre, which has already got DSIR recognised.”
