Cipla announces commercial operation of captive renewable

Cipla Limited, or “Cipla,” has announced the commercial operation of a captive renewable energy power plant with extra capacity in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Cipla had completed a 30 MWp solar project at Tuljapur in January of this year, and has now added 16 MWp of solar capacity to deliver sustainable energy to its Maharashtra industrial divisions and facilities.

These projects, which were developed in collaboration with AMP Energy India, are one of the largest solar open access projects in the state.

The project will meet the Company’s green energy needs for its production operations in Kurkumbh and Patalganga, as well as its R&D centre in Vikhroli, Maharashtra, by converting roughly 70% of total consumption to green energy.

In Karnataka wind solar hybrid captive power plant with capacity as 9 MWp solar + 2.7 MVA of wind has been commissioned in partnership with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions, this project will help in migrating the 85 % of power requirement to renewable source for its manufacturing units in Karnataka.
