Odisha govt gives nod for Ra 429 crore mega aluminium park

The Odisha government had set aside Rs 428.95 crore in its budget for the establishment of a major aluminium park in Angul. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presided over a state cabinet meeting in which this decision was made.

It also authorised a new plan called Financial Assistance for Mega Aluminium Park Development in Angul, as well as budgetary support for IDCO, the implementing agency. According to Chief Secretary S C Mohapatra, the project would be executed between 2021-22 and 2023-24.

According to Mohapatra, the cabinet accepted plans for the establishment of a land bank for industry and infrastructure, as well as grant-in-aid for 24 private upper primary schools and the drafting of a separate legislation for the establishment of a self-financed private university.
