Mormugao Port Trust’s Berths Redevelopment Project
Mormugao Port Trust is planning to take up berths redevelopment project in Goa. The project involves construction of berth 350 mtr long; providing mechanical handling equipment, stackyard development, all ancillary facilities; operations, maintenance of the facility; undertaking allowed commercial activities at the project site. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.8420 million. As of May 2022, Mormugao Port Trust has invited bids for redevelopment of berths no 9 and three barge berths on DBFOT basis.
Pushpit Steels’ New Sponge Iron Expansion Project
Pushpit Steels is planning to take up sponge iron expansion project in Yerpedu, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The project involves expanding the manufacturing capacity of increase of sponge iron production through DRI kilns (from 120000 TPA to 433500 TPA), increase of MS ingots/billets/hot billets production through induction furnaces along with CCM & LRF (from 125400 TPA to 389400 TPA), increase of WHRB based power plant (from 8 MW to 31 MW), establishment of new CFBC based power plant of 27 MW, establishment of new 2 x 4.5 MVA submerged arc furnaces to produce ferro alloys (FeMn- 25200 TPA / SiMn – 14400 TPA) & brick manufacturing unit 50000 bricks, etc. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.4550 million. As of May 2022, environment clearance for the project is underway.
