PMI Electro, an electric bus manufacturer, announced the opening of its largest commercial EV manufacturing unit in Chakan, Maharashtra, with an annual production capacity of 2,500 cars.
The facility, for which the foundation stone was placed, will comply with all green construction standards and will be operational by August 2023, according to PMI, which did not disclose the investment figure.
The 35-acre complex, which will be built in MIDC, Chakan, near Pune, will employ 1,500 people, according to the business.
PMI already has a manufacturing plant in the Delhi national capital region that can produce roughly 1,500 electric buses each year.
