Welspun Enterprises Limited had previously announced a procurement and construction contract worth Rs. 2,336 core with Soma Indus Varanasi Aurangabad Tollway Private Limited for the project “Six-laning of Varanasi-Aurangabad Section of NH-2 from Km 786+000 to Km 978+400 (Length – 192.4 km) in the State of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar” (“Soma Indus”).
Soma Indus has given the Company a Letter of Award for an additional contract worth Rs. 1,600 crore (inclusive of GST). The Company will be in charge of procurement and construction under this contract.
Construction on the project will begin in May 2022 and be finished by November 2023.
