19 companies apply for PLI scheme for white goods

The commerce and industry ministry revealed that 19 international and local companies had registered for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for white products, including as air conditioners and LED lights, and had pledged Rs 1,548 crore in investment.

The administration reopened the scheme’s application procedure in March. According to reports, the second round of PLI applications was required since all of the authorised monies had not been utilised.

LG, Adani Copper Tubes, Jindal Poly Films, Mitsubishi Electric, and Crompton Greaves are just a few of the firms that have applied to make crucial AC and LED light components. Eight of the applications produce AC components, while 11 make LED lights.
