Modi inaugurates slew of development project in Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and set the foundation for a slew of development projects in Jammu and Kashmir costing more than Rs 20,000 crore, including the inauguration of the Banihal-Qazigund road tunnel, which would provide all-weather connection between the union territory’s two regions.

Modi, who attended the Panchayat Raj Diwas in Palli Gram Panchayat in Samba, said that the overall development of the union territory will provide job possibilities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the prime minister’s first trip to J-K after Article 370 was repealed on August 5, 2019.

“The inauguration and laying of foundation of project of Rs 20,000 crores took place. This will give new impetus to development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Modi said in an address to the people here.
