Himachal Pradesh government signs MoU with Ministry of Civil Aviation

An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Government of Himachal Pradesh for the establishment of a GreenField Airport at Nagchala, Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh.

The signing event was attended by Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, as well as prominent officials from AAI, MoCA, and the Himachal Pradesh government.

A Joint Venture Company between the State Government of Himachal Pradesh and the Airport Authority of India has been created to build the new greenfield airport in Nagchala, Mandi, as part of the MoCA’s Greenfield Airport Policy.

The projected land requirement for the airport is 515 acres approx. and the project is estimated to cost around Rs 900 crore excluding the cost of land.
