TISS signs MoU with L&T for three ozone generators

TISS (Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation) has signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro for three ozone generators at the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant in Delhi, India, which is being built by the Delhi Jal Board. This is one of India’s most expansive ozonation systems for a water treatment facility.

The project is part of the Delhi Water Supply Improvement Project, which is supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The JICA-assisted 477 mld water treatment facility at Chandrawal, which is being built by L&T to replace existing water treatment facilities, will be fitted with Toshiba’s ozonation equipment, which will have three ozone generators each with a capacity of 31 kg per hour.

Ozone is a potent oxidant with a wide range of functions, including dechlorination, deodorization, virus and bacterium inactivation, oxidation of organic and inorganic compounds, and more.
