IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has announced that it has begun commercial production of ‘Paracetamol’ with an installed capacity of 1,800 MTPA and backward integration of Para Amino Phenol (PAP).
The active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) paracetamol, often known as acetaminophen, is used to treat fever and moderate pain, whereas PAP is utilised as an intermediary in the production of paracetamol.
The firm produces paracetamol in its current unit number 4, which was transformed into a multiproduct facility at a cost of around Rs 1 crore, while PAP is produced in a portion of unit number 9.
Units 4 and 9 will be used to manufacture different items as needed, depending on market conditions.
