Rs 212 crore allotted to get land for Kolhapur airport expansion

Maharashtra government has set up Rs 212.25 crore for the land acquisition procedure needed to expand the Kolhapur airport.

Manukumar Shrivastav, the state chief secretary, convened a high-level meeting to make the decision. The airport will be expanded, and land covering 25.91 hectares will be purchased.

Kolhapur district guardian minister Satej Patil said, “Kolhapur airport is under the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and handles domestic flights through ‘Udaan’ scheme. To make the airport functional to its full capacity, expansion is required. For this, land measuring 25.9 hectare needs to acquired. At a high-level meeting that took place in Mumbai on Monday night, Rs 212 crore were sanctioned for it.”
