Maharashtra government authorises Swargate to Katraj underground metro route expansion

Maharashtra government authorised a Rs450.95 crore contribution for the Swargate to Katraj underground metro line extension on Wednesday.

In September 2021, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) approved the 5.4-kilometer expansion of the underground metro rail line and submitted a petition to the state government for approval. After the state government approves the metro line, the plan will be sent to the federal government for approval, which will allow construction to commence.

The project would cost Rs3,668 crore in total and will be finished in April 2027.
