Kerala Minister for Ports Ahamed Devarkovil and the Adani group have announced that the Vizhinjam port, which is part of a multi-billion-dollar International Deep Water Multipurpose Seaport project, will be operational by December 2023.
However, an Adani official stated that the full Rs 7,525 crore project, including providing national highway connection to the port and carrying out land purchases, will be finished by December 2024.
The joint statement was made to the public following a meeting between the Adani Group and the minister on the completion of the project, which was supposed to be completed by 2021.
