As part of plans to enhance its footprint in key cities across the country, the Indian Hotels Group Ltd, the country’s largest hospitality company, announced the signing of an agreement to build another Taj hotel in the city.
IHCL will have 13 hotels in Chennai with the addition of the new hotel, with three more in various stages of development.
The projected Taj Hotel, which will be built on 3.5 acres of land on Nelson Manickam Road, will have four restaurants and a bar, as well as 235 rooms and 123 Taj branded villas.
The new development, which is under management contract, will include branded homes as part of the hotel complex, according to the business.
