Simple Energy, an electric car manufacturer, said that it has signed an initial agreement for cell production in India with C4V (Charge CCCV), a US-based battery technology startup. Last August, the Bengaluru-based energy firm released its first e-scooter, the Simple One. It has not, however, begun delivering its first product.
The heart of any electric car is its lithium-ion battery cells (EV). By vertically integrating the whole value chain, Simple Energy is leading the domestic EV sector.
The firm has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with C4V to establish a Lithium-ion cell manufacturing ecosystem in India as part of this, according to the company.
