Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union minister of ports, shipping, and waterways, claimed that the Sagarmala plan in Andhra Pradesh has identified over 120 projects totaling more than 1 lakh crore.
These initiatives will improve port-led industrialization, port modernisation, port connectivity, coastal community development, coastal shipping, and inland waterways infrastructure.
The minister stated the projects are undertaken by Central ministries, IWAI, Indian Railways, NHAI, state governments, major ports, and others in response to a question from YSRC member V Vijaya Sai Reddy in the Rajya Sabha.
