Coimbatore to become the first city in TN to get Metrolite system

Coimbatore city may be the first in the state to have a Metrolite system, which will extend 45.87 kilometres and feature 40 stations, stopping at various significant local landmarks, including Coimbatore Airport.

According to the full project study, Coimbatore will be divided into three phases. Two corridors have been proposed in the first phase, with the first linking Vellalore Bus Terminal to PSG Foundry through Ukkadam Bus Stand, as well as offering airport line access from Park Plaza (totally covering 31.73 km).

The Collectorate Metro will be connected to Valliyampalayam Pirivu via the second corridor (length: 14.13 km).
