Nagaland government signs MoU with private company for solar power facility

The Nagaland government signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a private company for the construction of the state’s first greenfield solar power facility in Dimapur district.

In the presence of Advisor for Power, H Tovihoto Ayemi, the agreement was signed by Principal Secretary for Power, K D Vizo, on behalf of the Nagaland government, and Director of Halo Energie Pvt Lt, Chamundeswari Nallavadla, on behalf of Halo Energie Pvt Ltd.

The Nagaland government will lease the property, and Halo Energie Pvt Ltd will undertake the 20 MW power plant, which is expected to cost roughly Rs 120 crore.

The Department of Industries and Commerce has signed a land lease for 100 acres of land for a duration of 25 years, and the project time will be 25 years as well.
