Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the government has approved four road development projects totaling Rs 4,518.04 crore, including two motorways under the Bharatmala initiative.
The projects in Assam, Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are for the construction, widening, and upgrading of national highways.
The minister of road transport and highways announced on social media that the four-laning of NH-71 from Madanapalle to Pileru in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs 1,852.12 crore as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna.
Gadkari met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy last week to discuss the state’s national highway projects.
