Union minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the Road Transport and Highways Ministry has approved highway projects worth Rs 3,36,661 crore for the three years.
The Road Transport and Highways Minister said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha that the average period for a project to be completed is two to three years from the date of award.
Gadkari responded to a second question by saying that some stretches or sections of roughly 100 National Highways are located in or pass through forest regions designated as a Wildlife Sanctuary/National Park or an Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ).
