NHAI issues tender for four-lane elevated road in Begusarai

The residents of the district can now look forward to fewer traffic jams on NH-31, which runs through the town. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender for the construction of a four-lane elevated road from Kapasia Chowk to the Begusarai jail area.

Nitin Nabin, the state’s road construction minister, said the road will span for 4.3 kilometres and cost Rs 371 crore.

The NHAI will give the construction agency two and a half years to complete the project from the start date. It will also be responsible for road maintenance for a period of ten years after the project is completed.
