Jindal SAW’s New OCTG Threading Plant
Jindal SAW has formed a joint venture with Hunting Energy Services to set up India’s first premium OCTG threading plant in Nashik, Maharashtra. The project involves setting up OCTG threading plant connecting OCTG from India to various parts of the world and act as import substitution for players in oil and gas drilling activities. As of January 2022, The initial investment in this JV will be around $20-25 million and the potential annual market size for premium OCTG in India is close to $200 million.
Rungta Mines’ New Chandiposhi Iron Ore Block
Rungta Mines is planning to take up new Chandiposhi iron ore block in Badaindupur, Sanua, Sargigarah, Teherai, Koira, Sundargarh, Orissa. The project involves development of Chandiposhi Iron Ore Block with peak production capacity of 1.0 Million TPA ROM Iron Ore with a total excavation of 1.0945 Million TPA (1.0 million TPA ROM Iron Ore + 0.0945 million TPA of waste) in mine lease area of 131.58 Ha . The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1520 million. As of January 2022, environment clearance for the project is underway.
