The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) said that bidding for 15 blocks offered in the first coal-bed methane (CBM) round in more than a decade will begin on February 15 and end on March 15.
Bids for the Special CBM Bid Round-2021, which began in September of last year, were due on February 20, 2022, however that date was pushed back.
“Bid submission for Special CBM Bid Round-2021 will start on 15th February, 2022 and end on 15th March, 2022,” DGH said in a notice.
The government has offered 15 blocks in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh for extracting gas from coal seams (CBM).
