Tata Steel plans to establish an iron ore beneficiation plant


Tata Steel intends to build an iron ore beneficiation plant at the company’s Joda East Iron Ore Mine, which it has held since 1956.

Beneficiation is a term used to describe a process for upgrading ore. Concentration is used to improve iron ore to a greater iron content. To meet the quality requirements of huge steel companies, iron ore is beneficiated all over the world.

The company’s own steel mills, as well as sister firms and subsidiaries at Jamshedpur (Chhattisgarh), Kalinganagar, Meramandali (all in Odisha), and Tata Steel Long Products Gamharia, receive all of the iron ore produced at the mine (Jharkhand).
