Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened 13 development projects totaling Rs 1858 crore and laid the foundation stones for nine additional infrastructure projects worth Rs 2957 crore in Manipur.
Road infrastructure, urban development, drinking water supply, health, housing, skill development, information technology, and art and culture are among the projects, according to officials.
Modi said the steel Barak Bridge, which was also opened and is located along National Highway-37, will improve connectivity.
The bridge, which cost Rs 75 crore to construct, is expected to improve traffic flow between Manipur’s capital, Imphal, and Assam’s Silchar.
