Amul to set up Rs 500 crore plant in Telangana

Amul, the world’s largest dairy company, announced that it will build its largest state-of-the-art factory in Telangana, with a two-phase investment of Rs 500 crore.

The factory would be built in a special food processing zone with an initial expenditure of Rs 300 crore and a second phase investment of Rs 200 crore. More than 500 people will be employed directly, and other ancillary industries will benefit.

With a capacity of 5 lakh litres per day of milk processing – expandable to 10 lakh litres per day – this will be Amul’s largest factory in south India, producing packed milk and value added dairy products such as curd, buttermilk, lassi, yoghurt, paneer, sweets, and more.
