Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, laid the foundation stone for 25 National Highway projects in Jammu, totaling 257 kilometres and costing Rs 11,721 crores.
This is in line with the government’s goal of completing a 2 lakh-kilometer National Highway network by 2025.
These projects will provide all-weather connection between Jammu and Kashmir valley, according to an official statement made by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. These are strategically vital for the rapid mobility of defence forces, as well as the region’s agricultural, industrial, and socioeconomic progress.
