Noida International Airport to have Rs 8,914 cr investment in phase I

According to a senior civil aviation ministry source, the first phase of the Noida International Airport at Jewar will cost Rs 8,914 crore and have a 12 million annual passenger handling capability.

The international airport’s foundation stone will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it is projected to be operational by September 2024.

The 1,330-acre greenfield airport will initially feature two runways, with Zurich Airport International AG (concessionaire) emerging as the successful bidder for its development.

The first phase of the project will cost Rs 4,588 crore, according to Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal. The overall cost will be Rs 8,914 crore, with the Uttar Pradesh government contributing Rs 4,326 crore for Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) and land purchase.
