Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (MPL), a petrochemicals manufacturer, has launched a “first-of-its-kind” pilot project with Econic, a UK technology partner, to commercialise the latter’s carbon-capture technology and achieve MPL’s twin goals of going green in its manufacturing process and reducing reliance on fossil-fuel based raw materials.
MPL signed an agreement with UK-based Econic Technologies two months ago with the goal of providing greener polyol products with lower raw material costs. Polyol synthesis is currently fueled by oil-based resources.
