DHI invites bidders for PLI scheme on ACC battery storage

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to invite bidders for setting up greenfield manufacturing facilities under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme to promote ACC manufacturing in the country, as previously announced in the National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage.

Selected bidders that agree to building an ACC battery storage manufacturing facility with a minimum capacity of 5 GWh will get tax benefits in the form of cash subsidies under the programme.

The PLI programme calls for a total manufacturing capacity of 50 GWh for ACCs, as well as an extra 5 GWh for specialised ACC technologies with a minimum threshold capacity of 500 MWh.
