Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), a ferro chrome maker based in Odisha, is hoping to receive land allocation for its proposed 550 crore greenfield expansion project at Kalinganagar in Odisha by next month. It intends to start working on the project in 2022.
According to Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director of IMFA, the company’s one lakh tonne expansion project was approved by the State government in 2019. However, due to the Covid-19-induced epidemic, the proposal was put on hold. IMFA has a total capacity of 2,84,000 tonnes and has manufacturing facilities in Therubali and Choudwar, both in Odisha.
