In order to increase revenue growth by 2.5 times, power management giant Eaton India is ramping up capacity at its Puducherry factory, according to top corporate officials.
The business, which had recently purchased eight acres of adjacent land, has already renovated an old building to add 40,000 square feet, and it plans to construct new manufacturing buildings on the property that will total 100,000 square feet.
Bhoomi puja for the new blocks will happen before the end of the calendar year. The factory’s current production capacity is 145,000 sq ft manufacturing block.
The capacity expansion is part of the company’s localization drive as well as a more aggressive product line up for the next five years, said Syed Sajjadh Ali, MD electrical sector, India Eaton.
“Our current import content is 40% which we plan to reduce to 15 %,” he said, adding, “Our target for Q2 of calendar 2024 is to take import content down to 25 per cent.”
