A real estate developer from Delhi-NCR named Gaurs Group has entered the energy sector with a 15 Mega Watt solar power facility in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba.
According to a statement from the company, the project, which spans 50 acres, cost Rs 80 crore to build and was funded by private equity as well as a loan of Rs 55 crore from the State Bank of India.
The plant will produce 2.25 crore units of power yearly, and the real estate company claims that the project’s capacity can be increased in accordance with changing needs.
“We are delighted to have completed the 15 MW Mahoba solar power project and dedicating it to the nation on World Environment Day. The minimum useful life of the plant is 26 years. However, it has the potential to operate beyond the stipulated time frame,” said Manoj Gaur, chairman and managing director, Gaurs Group.
The company shared that this will result in a reduction of 18 thousand tonnes of carbondioxide equivalent annually.
