- Meja Urja Nigam Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between NTPC Ltd and UPRVUN Ltd, has reported progress on its upcoming thermal power project in UP. On June 2012, the project has achieved financial closure. A loan agreement for Rs 7,5750 million was signed with consortium of 16 banks led by State Bank of India.First unit of 660 MW of the joint venture Meja Urja Nigam was made commercially operational in April 2019. On November 2020, set up a 1,320-megawatt (with 2X660 MW units) coal-based Meja Thermal Power Plant. The plant will be operation by December 2020. As of January 2021, Unit-2 of 660 MW capacity of Meja Thermal Power Project of Meja Urja Nigam Pvt Ltd (MUNPL) (a joint venture of NTPC Ltd and UPRVUN Ltd) has successfully completed trial operation and consequently included in the installed capacity of MUNPL and NTPC group
- NTPC is planning to take up new thermal power units in Talcher Thermal Power Station, Angul, Odisha. The project involves setting up new two units with capacity 600 MW each. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.74000 million. As of March 2020, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company is planning to take up new Amarkantak thermal power project in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. The project involves setting up thermal power project with capacity 660 MW. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.46256 million. The consultant of the project Desein Private Limited Consulting Engineers. As of August 2020, The project is in the planning phase and offers an opportunity for the contractor.
- Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation is planning to take up new new North Chennai TTP stage 3 development project in Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. The project involves setting up a power plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.48000 million. The project is expected to complete on August 2021. As of December 2020, the project has received Environmental and Forest Clearance.
- Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation is planning to take up new super critical thermal power in Udangudi village, Tiruchendur Taluk, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. The project involves establishing a 2 x 660 MW coal based Super Critical Thermal Power Project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.190.286 million. As of October 2020, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- KSK Mahanadi Power Company is planning to take up coal based thermal power plant phase – 2 in Village: Nariyara, Akaltara Tehsil, Janjgir Champa, Chhattisgarh. The project involves construction and implementation of 3×600 MW (1800 MW – Units-5,6 and1) coal based power plant which is part of 6×600 MW (3600 MW) power plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.90000 million. As of June 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
- NTPC is planning to take up Barh super thermal power project in Patna, Bihar. The project involves setting up of thermal energy power plant with capacity of 2 x 660 MW. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.213121 million. The mode of implementation of the project is on EPC route. As of September 2021, Currently this project is under construction stage.
