ABB India, a key player in automation and electrification, announced that a new line for manufacturing variable speed drive modules will be added to its facility at the Peenya complex in Bengaluru.
Globally, any industrial application or facility can increase energy efficiency and performance by adjusting the speed of electric motors to match the actual demands of the process. This is done with the help of variable speed drive modules.
A drive can often lower power usage by up to 25% when added to the existing motor of a pump, fan, or compressor, the company claimed.
“ABB India expands its production footprint with a new line for variable speed drive modules at the Peenya factory in Bengaluru,” the company said in a statement.
The new line will produce drives ranging from 75 kW to 250 kW and will cater to all major industrial segments.
