The multi-specialty hospital chain Kauvery Hospital, based in Tamil Nadu, plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore in capital projects over the next three years to expand its capacity to 3,500+ beds in South India.
The healthcare provider dedicated a 250-bed tertiary care facility at Radial Road in South Chennai, filling a tertiary care shortage. The new multi-specialty hospital will provide care in specialties such emergency medicine, trauma care, women’s and children’s health, and cardiac sciences. The region connects GST Road, where the Chennai International Airport is situated, with Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), which runs parallel to it.
Also on the anvil is the plan to have at least three more hospitals in Chennai with a focus on providing tertiary and quaternary care.
With this addition, the healthcare chain has reached 550 tertiary care beds in Chennai, whereby the plan is to take this to 1,000 tertiary care bed capacity exclusively in Chennai in the next 24 months.
Kauvery Hospital has expanded its network to 15 hospitals with over 1,500 beds spread across Chennai, Tiruchi, Bengaluru, Salem, Hosur and Tirunelveli. The new facility is the healthcare provider’s ninth hospital across these six locations.
