Gujarat’s Kheda to get acetonitrile factory

Investing more than Rs 100 crore, Jindal Speciality Chemicals Private Limited is all set to build an acetonitrile factory in Kheda, Gujarat.

Acetonitrile is manufactured by the firm, which has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tonnes. This solvent is frequently used in laboratory, pharmaceutical, and agricultural chemical synthesis processes.

The production plant is concentrating on goods from verticals such as: Agor Intermediates, Pharma Intermediates, Ruber and Polymer, Dyes and Pigment, Industrial Solvent, Life Science and Food, and Industrial Specialties.

Rahul Gupta, Business Head, Jindal Speciality Chemicals Private Limited said, “It is an extremely technology oriented product which is manufactured by few companies in India and has a high amount of differentiation.”

“The company has orders in hand and will start supplying customers by May 2023. Presently, the company is marketing its product in India but is looking at an export revenue of around 20-25% in 2024,” Gupta said.
