Given that the Gujarat government has approved Rs. 169 crore for the project, long-delayed work on the construction of a civil hospital in the Anand district may soon begin.
Due to problems involving the land, the project was on hold. Over a plot of land close to the veterinary college in Anand, a 200-bed hospital will be built.
Local BJP leaders claim that with the administrative approval from the State cabinet, construction might begin within the next three months.
The health department estimates that the construction of the hospital will be completed by March 2025 and then be made operational by August 2025.
A public interest litigation was filed last year pointing out that despite the allotment of land in 2016, the civil hospital planned for Anand district had not taken off till date.
