Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. inked a contract for the building of an elevated viaduct for CMRL Phase-II in the amount of 1,134 crore.
The contract is part of Asian Development Bank funding for Phase-II under the loan agreement.
A press release said the scope of the contract includes construction of an elevated viaduct of approximate length of 10km and nine elevated metro station at Sholinganallur Lake-1, Sri Ponniamman Temple (Sholinganallur Lake-2), Sathyabama University (Semmenchery-2, Gandhi Nagar, Navalur, Siruseri, Siruseri Sipcot-1 and Siruseri Sipcot-2 as well as stablising viaduct at Sipcot.
T Archunan, director, projects, CMRL and Chaudhary Rajneesh Kumar Singh, senior DGM, electrical, BD, RVNL signed the contract.
CMRL said this is the last elevated corridor tender being awarded for the 118.9 km phase-2 project.
