At its current factory, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (LMM), a division of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), hosted a ceremony to officially break ground on a new production unit at Telangana.
According to a news release from the automaker, K T Rama Rao, the Telangana Minister for Industries, was the special guest.
The plan follows the declaration of M&M’s Rs 1,000 crore investment in Telangana in February of this year. The company claims that with this new facility, it would construct a cutting-edge battery assembly line, manufacture power packs, and produce electronic and motor components for electric three- and four-wheelers.
Additionally, the facility would bring 800 to 1,000 new jobs to the area.
Rama Rao, said EVs are a focus area for the Telangana Government which is committed to develop the right infrastructure and ecosystem for promotion and adoption of electric vehicles.
