The nation’s first lithium-ion cell production plant was officially opened by battery technology firm Log9 Materials in Bengaluru.
At its campus in Jakkur, Bengaluru, the company opened a production plant for commercial Li-ion batteries.The plant’s starting output is 50 MWh.
In a statement, Log9 Materials Co-Founder & CEO AkshaySinghal said, “Our cells are designed from the ground up in India, for India; to suit Indian operating conditions, climate, and customers, and are therefore going to play a crucial role in making India self-reliant while aiding the nation realise its ambitious electric mobility vision.”
According to him, the company has installed about 3,000 batteries in EVs that have driven about 5.5 million miles.
