Arunachal Pradesh upgrades Kaho project to 100 KW

Arunachal state administration has upgraded an existing micro hydel project near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) despite protests from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

Fifty projects are being implemented in a phased manner and under Phase-I, 17 projects with an installed capacity of 1255 KW and at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore, have been taken up said state Chief Minister PemaKhandu.

China continues to raise objections on infrastructure projects while it has ramped up infrastructure, including roads and buildings, on their side, said officials.

The lack of basic facilities has forced the population living in these remote areas to migrate from border villages to the foothills.
