VishwaSamudra Group to soon commence work on greenfield port at Bhavanapadu village

Andhra Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will lay the cornerstone for the Bhavanapadu greenfield Port to signal the start of development work in the Srikakulam district.

The joint venture run by Hyderabad-based infrastructure company VishwaSamudra Engineering has been granted the work contract for phase 1 of the port project by Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB), the project’s implementing agency.

Megha Engineering & Infrastructure (MEIL) lost out to the joint venture (JV) between VishwaSamudra and Visakhapatnam-based R R Constructions for the EPC contract for Bhavanapadu port.

The proposed port will have a capacity of 23.53 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum developed under Phase I and another 83.3 MTPA under Phase II. The project is estimated to cost over Rs 4000 crore.
