A tender for the design, provision, installation, erection, and commissioning of a biodegradable municipal solid waste processing facility at Brahmapuram, with a minimum daily capacity of 150 tonnes, has been released by the Kochi Corporation, inviting offers from experienced operators.
According to the tender, the project’s total anticipated cost, including operations and maintenance, is Rs. 48.56 crore, of which Rs. 39.49 crore will go towards building the plant and Rs. 9.07 crore towards its operation and maintenance over a five-year period.
Bidders who are interested in the project must have at least five years of experience managing 43,000 tonnes of waste annually. Within nine months of obtaining the tender, the winning bidder must start construction on the project site.
The operator must complete the entire construction of the processing plant as per the approved DIP within 240 days from the date of agreement or handover of the site, whichever is later.
The trial run should be conducted within 270 days from the date of the agreement or site handover, whichever is later. The last date for submitting tenders is April 25, 2023.
