Plans for Rs 33,690 crore were approved in order to build more infrastructure for Mumbai’s suburban railway system, which is sometimes referred to as the country’s financial capital and the surrounding metropolitan area’s lifeline. The projects were cleared in the presence of Mumbai Railway Development Corporation representatives as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he claimed. |
“The projects include laying of 5th and 6th lines between Borivali and Virar on Western Railway. Similarly, the 3rd and the 4th line between Kalyan and Badlapur (15 km) on Central Railway also got approved,” a statement from the CMO said.
