For a three-year period, the leading fertiliser cooperative IFFCO and Coromandel International Ltd (CIL) will manufacture Nano DAP.
In his written response to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Bhagwanth Khuba stated that a notification in this respect was issued on March 2.
After urea, di ammonium phosphate (DAP) is the fertiliser that is used most frequently in the nation.
The minister added that IFFCO had disclosed plans to build a Nano DAP factory at its Kalol facility in Gujarat, with a capacity to produce 2 lakh 500 ml bottles daily.
As commercial production begins, “Nano DAP will be available in the market across the nation,” he continued.
On its benefits, the minister shared that preliminary field trials were conducted by IFFCO and CIL on select crops in select institutes of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
